Drugs

This week in class we did an activity that had to do with drugs and matching the level of how legal it is. We didn't know the name of the drugs so it made us think about how bad it is by its description. When our teacher told us the names of each drug it was weird to see what was actually legal and which was illegal because some things that we said were legal we put as illegal and some things that we thought are illegal we had as legal. As we were going through all the information my group had many different opinion on weather it is legal or not and how we should rate it on the scale because every drug we went over it said there was a chance of death.

milestones

this week in class we talked about milestones during our lives. I think my 3 biggest milestones were being born, walking and going to nationals for soccer so far.I never realized how many milestones you go through in your life and how so many things are special. I never really payed attention to them cause im always thinking about the future, But since we did the timeline in class i started to think about things that made a difference in my life like riding a bike, tieing my shoes, and going to school.I hope my next milestones are going to college to play soccer and thats it for now. no need to worry about other things because i want to take one step at a time and not rush.

Aikido

This week in class we talked about using someones energy to help us in a situation when some one comes at you. Sal demonstration was cool. I didn't think you could hurt people like that when your using their forces. I shouldn't say it's to hurt someone, its more of a defensive act so they don't get hurt. Aikido is a positive thing to learn because it teaches you to solve problems rather than fighting. If everyone knew Aikido then everyone would understand how their actions are effecting the world in a negative way with people dieing and not even caring. The thing I like about aikido is you don't learn to attack you learn how to take in the energy and use it in a way to keep things under control. what if Stevenson had its own Aikido program?

in class we had to pay attention to American culture. At first I was confused because i couldn't figure a general group that everyone could fit into. The reason is every culture has their own quality that stands out from the others. Once we actually started talking about it in class i started to to look at this in a different way. being the typical American that i am my family and eye could finish a quality meal in 45 minutes. i know that's not long enough but were always on the go and if were sitting down we feel like were wasting out time doing nothing. The funny thing is when I go eat dinner with my asian side of the family we could sit at the dinner for a couple hours. Its kinda hard for my family and i to sit there but its normal for all my grandparents and aunts and uncles to sit there for 3 hours like its no big deal. how did our culture become this way?
